diagnosed with brain tumors there are multiple types of brain tumors so there's things like
medulloblastoma ependymoma glioblastoma so those are types but brain tumor kind of
encompasses all brain cancers pediatric oncologist dr. Kelly sazhin says brain tumors can
happen at any age we see them in very young children less than two years of age we also see
them in teenagers children with brain tumors often experience frequent and extreme
headaches followed by vomiting they can also have difficulty speaking and have weakness on
one side of the body usually because your brain only has so much space within it your head
then as a tumor grows it creates pressures while the cause is unknown doctors say there are a
few genetic disorders that can be linked to brain tumors initially if a surgery can be done we
almost always do a surgery then and if a surgery can't be done then we move on to our next
steps which are usually involving chemotherapy and often radiation therapy doctors say
children can survive brain tumors but often they leave lifelong effects but if you take all brain
tumors together about 70 to 75 percent of kids are surviving long-term doctors say it's
